AfroTech

AfroTech 2018 marked a significant year for the conference, solidifying its position as a major platform for Black professionals in the tech industry. It was held in November 2018 in San Francisco at the Palace of Fine Arts.

A core goal was to increase the visibility of African-American community in the tech industry and demonstrate their capabilities and potential for success. The theme of Microsoft's participation, "We See You," highlighted a commitment to inclusion and recognizing the community's contributions.

AfroTech 2018 was considered the biggest year for the event at the time. It attracted major tech companies, showcasing their interest in engaging with and recruiting diverse talent. When Afrotech team reached out to us they specifically requested to capture "tons of candids" which wasn't that hard at all the participants were constantly engaged with each other and were interacting non-stop throughout the event.
